Abstract: |
Excavation of a single trench measuring 20m x 1.8m revealed a wide, shallow ditch, which contained two clay silting fills sealed by a layer of redeposited natural clay. No waterlogged organic deposits were present, although a single sherd of abraded green glazed pottery and fragments of butchered bone were recovered from the primary fill of the ditch. No damage to archaeological remains was identified. [Au(abr)] |
