Abstract: |
A watching brief took place during the initial ground reduction and also during the excavation of three foundation trenches. One medieval pit was partially observed in one foundation trench, producing two sherds of pottery of later 11th-12th century date. The existing 19th century brick terrace house was found to sit on a foundations course of greensand blocks, probably robbed from Tonbridge Castle in the 18th-19th centuries. [Au(abr)] |
