Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out within the grounds of a medieval church, which had been heavily restored in the medieval and post-medieval periods. The works observed involved alterations to pathways and structures surrounding the church. Parts of the west porch foundation and a linear brick vault were revealed. A number of post-medieval artefacts, including pottery and a 17th century coin, were recovered, and a cobbled surface was recorded. An undated grave, disarticulated human remains and a semi-articulated skeleton were observed. Deposits relating to 19th century landscaping were also noted. [AIP] |
