Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in order to define the nature, date and importance of an enclosure on National Trust land which was being damaged by ploughing. The evaluation discovered that stratified archaeological deposits did survive within the area excavated, but that due to heavy modern ploughing the deposits were confined to just the outer ditch of the enclosure and a small area of the interior. No dating evidence was recovered. It was recommended that the monument be protected from further damage. [Au(adp)] |
