Abstract: |
An evaluation by trial trenching was undertaken of 4.29ha of the total 9ha site due for redevelopment, this part of the site was to be for housing. The whole site was discovered to have been disturbed to some extent, with a large area of truncation at the northern end of the site. Post-medieval field drains and a ditch reflected the former use of the land as farmland until c.1960. The evaluation revealed only a limited history of the site, with no real archaeological activity recorded. [Au(adp)] |
