Abstract: |
A desk-based study was undertaken on a proposed development site extending to some 1.9ha of the north-west corner of Rolfe's Chequer within the area of medieval Salisbury. Topographic, documentary and previously acquired archaeological evidence from nearby sites indicated that the development area was located in a part of the town were early (pre-urban) activity may have been present, and where evidence relating to medieval and later industrial processes was likely. The survival of archaeology was likely to have been affected by 19th century or later disturbance. [Au(abr)] |
