Abstract: |
The assessment drew together available documentary and archaeological evidence in response to reserved matters pursuant to the outline permission, recommended for granting by the Planning Inspectorate for the redevelopment of the site. Archaeological and documentary sources indicated a generally high potential for prehistoric archaeology in this area. The site fell within an 'Area of Archaeological Significance' as defined by the Borough's unitary development plan. This priority area had been defined in response to a potential for medieval and post-medieval archaeology. The sources consulted indicated that there was no direct evidence to suggest a high potential for archaeological remains on the study site. There were no scheduled ancient monuments or known archaeological sites on or near the study site. [Au] |
