Abstract: |
The site lay within the Billericay Town Centre Conservation Area, as defined by Basildon District Council. The site did not contain any SAMs or Listed Buildings. There were, however, numerous entries in the Essex SMR within the vicinity of the site. Research suggested that there was the possibility that archaeological remains existed upon the site although geotechnical works on the adjacent site of the former Ritz Bingo Hall had not revealed any archaeology. It was therefore recommended that an archaeological watching brief be carried out as an appropriate form of archaeological mitigation. [Au(abr)] |
