Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of newt ponds and associated topsoil stripping on land adjacent to Peter's Pit chalk quarry. Although an earlier archaeological evaluation had located Roman features in the western portion of the site, the groundworks were designed to avoid them. No artefacts or features of archaeological significance were observed during the site monitoring. [Au] |
