Abstract:		 The filling station is on, or very close to the site of two Bronze Age barrows recorded on the SMR. The proposal to install a jet wash facility required an evaluation to determine if there were any remains of the said barrows. Trial pits were excavated and although no trace of a barrow was found there was evidence of a buried soil. It was thought possible the barrow ditch may survive. The jet wash would not be positioned on the site of the ditch but the service trenches would probably cross it. [Au(adp)]
