Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of six trenches and the results showed that the site had been extensively quarried for sand and gravel in the post-medieval period and then re-instated in the mid to late 19th century for use as a rail siding, warehouse and coal yard. A maltings was also constructed along the southern limit of the site at this time. Little archaeological evidence remained though structural evidence of a possible warehouse and of maltings was identified. [Au(adp)] |
