Abstract: |
Eight evaluation trenches were excavated on a site proposed for a residential development which lay close to the likely alignment of previously identified middle Bronze Age and Iron Age enclosure ditches, and near to the Roman Fosse Way and medieval town centre. Three successive ditches of probable prehistoric date were observed, aligned east to west across the southern part of the site, with the later ditches truncating the north side of their predecessors. An isolated post hole of Roman date was also identified. [Au] |
