Abstract:		 Archaeological observation of groundworks was carried out on the site of a new development to the rear of 41-42 Sheep Street. The site was within the medieval planned town and evidence of medieval and post-medieval pits including two large quarry pits was recorded. The 16th century limestone wall foundations of street frontage buildings were also revealed. The latter had been re-used by the present buildings on the site. [Au(abr)]
