Abstract: |
A watching brief was held during initial site clearance and the construction of an access road and associated service trenches for a housing development, on a site containing the remains of a medieval moat. Narrow sandstone wall footings of a medieval building comprising at least two rooms, with later alterations was revealed. Further structural remains were noted within the centre of the moat platform. Extensive post-medieval and modern disturbance associated with the recent farm history was also noted. [Au(abr)] |
