Abstract: |
The excavation revealed a complex sequence of post-16th century deposits, features and structures. These included a substantial stone wall of late 18th or early 19th century date, possibly a boundary wall or part of a structure associated with the former timber yards, together with further walls of a similar date apparently relating to warehousing. The base of the ditch was exposed on the western side of the trench at a depth of approximately 3.5m. Much medieval and post-medieval pottery was recovered. [Au(abr)] |
