Abstract: |
Trial trenching was undertaken in advance of the disposal of the Stratton Residential Development Area. This followed two earlier phases of field walking undertaken in 1995. 11 trial trenches were excavated, 3 of which contained archaeological features. Results of the fieldwalking and trial trenching complemented each other in the paucity of the evidence. Three possible post holes were observed across trench 1, a single possible furrow was identified across trench 11 and the southern edge of pit containing 'Belgic' pottery was revealed in trench 13.
