Abstract:
The new route of the electricity cable trench resulted in minimal impact on archaeological remains taking place. The only deposits disturbed were from tipping or made ground, with no archaeological features exposed in the excavations. In addition, the footpath upgrade to the two areas of plateway was monitored and no disturbance to the archaeological features occurred. The exposed brickwork was covered providing it with protection during the course of the upgrade work. All of the artefacts found were out of situ and came from the topsoil layer, probably all dating from the late 19th century. [Au(adp)]
