Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment established that the appraisal site exhibited little evidence for past occupation or exploitation by man, although there may have been some potential for isolated Mesolithic activity. Cuckfield was originally a medieval settlement and flourished during the post-medieval period. It was therefore considered that some potential existed for the site to contain remains of this date.
