Abstract: |
The assessment was undertaken on the site of an undisclosed development. The investigations revealed that the site lay within the confines of a medieval village and Saxon settlement although the chance of any features surviving from these periods was thought to be slim due to extensive 18th century ground disturbance. The close proximity of a graveyard and the slim chance of any features being disturbed was enough for the archaeologists to suggest a watching brief to accompany ground works. [AIP] |
