The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 The assessment was carried out ahead of the proposed redevelopment of the 77ha site. Modern quarrying operations undertaken on the western side of the application area during the 20th century had destroyed much of the north-west part of the development area and all possible buried archaeological deposits. The assessment noted a record of stray finds ranging in date from Roman to post-medieval and the presence of Saxon burials from the SMR. Examination of aerial photographs revealed possible prehistoric or early historic sites in the north and west of the area. Historic maps aided in the mapping of place and field names providing an extensive record for the area. [Au]
