Abstract: |
Archaeological evaluation of the proposed route of the Broadway Bypass was carried out on behalf of the Engineering and Planning Department of Hereford & Worcester County Council. The evaluation was carried out in order to assess the significance of two archaeological sites, identified during an earlier assessment, that lay on the preferred route of the bypass. A range of deposits dating from the prehistoric period to the present day were excavated. These included prehistoric and medieval field boundaries and a Roman ploughsoil. A small artefactual assemblage was recovered, which, despite its size, added considerably to knowledge of the area.[AIP] |
