Abstract:
Archaeological recording carried out prior to residential development at Little Church Street, Rugby, Warwickshire recorded no evidence for medieval activity, though a single sherd of medieval pottery was recovered from the spoil heap of a nearby test pit. Pits and post holes of 17th/18th century date represented the remains of quarrying and of outbuildings and/or internal fences to the rear of properties fronting onto High Street to the west. Evidence for subsequent brick-built outbuildings and yards were also recorded. [Au]
