Abstract: |
Desk based assessment and field inspection were undertaken along the proposed route. The only sites of archaeological interest directly affected by the scheme proposals were the inclined plane from the Pewfall Colliery to the St Helens canal, and the course of the tramway from Garswood Colliery to the canal. There was some further, but limited, potential for the discovery of further evidence in the construction corridor. [Au(abr)] |
