Abstract: |
An cultural heritage assessment was undertaken as part of an Environment Assessment. There was no recorded archaeological evidence for prehistoric to Anglo-Saxon remains within the site. Although it was still possible that previously unrecorded remains of these dates could be present within the site. Recorded archaeological remains included: a possible medieval settlement and associated house platforms, plots, trackways and ridge and furrow cultivation, a Second World War gun emplacement, pill box and anti-landing trenches, of which only the gun emplacement was still visible.
