Abstract:		 Extensive reinforced concrete slabs and thick layers of imported consolidation material were found across the site and in most locations no pre-1980 deposits survived within 1.5-2m of the present ground surface. A single probable foundation from the priory church was revealed at the edge of a contractors small trial hole west of the new rear travellator and silt fills of post-medieval ditches for textile processing may have been encountered. Brick walls thought to be of eighteenth century date and later buildings were found. [Au(abr)]
