Abstract: |
Archaeological observation during the excavation of foundation trenches for new extensions to 7 Coventry Road, Baginton, close to The Lunt Roman fort, revealed some evidence of Roman activity. A large ditch, possibly an outer ditch of the fort, contained 47 pieces of 2nd century Roman pottery. Another large ditch seen in the eastern foundation trench which produced no dating evidence was also likely to have been Roman in date. Two pieces of 13th-14th century glazed pottery were recovered from the topsoil. [Au(abr)] |
