Abstract: |
A field evaluation was undertaken in advance of a proposed development. A previous desk-based assessment indicated that there was potential for archaeological remains within the site, and the evaluation subsequently identified 23 features on the northern side of the lake. These features consisted of ditches, pits and post holes, all of which were undated, sealed by an undated ploughsoil. Although no dating evidence was recovered from the evaluation, the features were clearly cut into the natural and were not considered contemporary. Their form and relative density were perhaps more suggestive of activity associated with occupation than agricultural practices. [Au(adp)] |
