Abstract: |
<summary2>Two areas were identified as requiring archaeological works prior to development. North of The Sandgate, between Milk Market and Spencer's Entry, and south of The Sandgate, between The Quayside, The Swirle and the standing warehouses. The second area was excavated between June and September 1990 and proved to be an area of a significant lime-burning industry of the 13th/14th centuries. Recommendations for the first site were put forward and included the excavation of a trial-trench and several test-pits. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
