Abstract: |
The assessment revealed there to be no known archaeology within the study area. However, the hotel incorporated a Grade II Listed Building. The site fronted onto the line of the old Roman road from London to the north, and lay within the boundaries of the historic medieval town of Stevenage. The main archaeological potential of the site lay in the possible survival of archaeological features associated with the medieval and post-medieval town. [Au] |
