Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in advance of a residential development. Five trenches were excavated. Trenches 4 and 5 revealed a curvilinear feature composed of two parallel ditches cut into the natural chalk with no discernible relationships, and a later recut on the same alignment. No dating evidence was retrieved and only burnt flint was recovered. Another flat bottomed ditch was observed in Trench 2 aligned east-west, which contained brick/tile and may have been medieval in date. A probable ice-wedge and two other possible natural features were also recorded. [Au(adp)] |
