Abstract:		 A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of geotechnical test-pits at the site of a school sports hall. A medieval moated manor to the south-west had been partly excavated during the 1950s. During the watching brief, deposits were recorded which were thought to represent the infilling of the moat.
