Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out and identified the substantial remains of three Roman ditch/gulley features and in addition the remains of a stone built structure immediately outside the defences. Although no finds were recovered in association with the above feature to provide corroboratory dating evidence, their position form and character suggested that they originated in the second and third centuries A.D. The remains were constituents of the Hadrian's Wall Military complex, a monument of national importance. [Au(adp)] |
