Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken on a site located within the historic core of Guildford. Cartographic sources indicated that most of the site had been relatively undisturbed in its more recent history and if archaeological deposits were present they may well have still been preserved. The nature of the development, which involved major ground reduction works, was likely to impact upon any archaeological deposits, if present and therefore further investigation was likely to be required.
