Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the site of a proposed housing development. The evaluation comprised the excavation of three trenches using a mechanical digger, followed by selected hand digging and recording of exposed deposits. A small amount of worked flint was recovered from two of the trenches, and a ditch/oval pit of possible Romano-British origin was discovered in the most southerly trench. In contrast to much of the area surrounding the site however, the number of archaeological finds was low. [Au] |
