Abstract: |
An archaeological survey was undertaken to assess the possible archaeological implications of the proposed bypass. The study revealed that this area had originally comprised a number of small fields whose boundaries had since been removed. Some of the present day fields formerly contained ridge and furrow. The work also identified a known archaeological site comprising of a circular stone foundation of disputable function and date, although it may have possibly been associated with a brick kiln marked on a 17th century map.
