Abstract: |
An archaeological desktop assessment of land proposed for development as housing discovered little firm evidence for substantial archaeological remains on the site. The site lay in an area from which a moderate number of finds had been recorded. There was potential for Roman roadside development, and the site also lay on the Sussex coastal plain, generally regarded as having higher potential than other geological and topographic zones within the county. The general lack of information was thought due more to lack of survey work than lack of archaeology. An evaluation was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
