Abstract: |
The evaluation recorded evidence of occupation on the moat island from the 13th-14th century. A clay layer, sealing a boulder clay subsoil was interpreted as upcast from the excavation of the moat ditch, with features of medieval and post-medieval date found either cutting or sitting on this layer.
