Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of the proposed development of the site. Seven trial trenches were excavated, revealing no surviving archaeological remains. A modern service trench and a modern drain were revealed in evaluation trenches 1 and 3 respectively. Natural sand and gravel was revealed at the base of each trench. This sloped downwards from the south of the site at 87.40m OD to the north of the site at 85. 08m OD. The natural was overlain by topsoil and made ground to a depth of 0.90m. No earlier deposits, archaeological features or finds were encountered. [Au(abr)] |
