Abstract:		 A desk-based assessment was carried out ahead of a proposed residential development. The site lay within an group of seven fields known collectively in 1825 as "The Gastons". These were part of a medieval field called "The Gaston Field", the site at the centre of the fighting at the Battle of Tewkesbury on 4th May 1471. The site lay within the area of the Registered Battlefield and had the potential for preservation of archaeological remains associated with the battle. Before the modern garage construction, part of the site contained a ridge and furrow field system and it was considered that archaeology may have survived in some areas. [Au(adp)]
