Abstract: |
Following a review of existing Sites and Monuments data held by Somerset County Council, an archaeological watching brief was carried out during pipelaying works for the new 500mm distribution water main between Stavordale Priory and Brickhouse Farm. The monitoring of topsoil stripping and trenching revealed no evidence for archaeological features although stray finds of prehistoric flint flakes and post-medieval pottery and tile were recovered from stripped surfaces.
