Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment of a proposed development site identified that a Roman villa lay 80m to the south-west, and that prehistoric and Roman artefacts and further Roman features had been found within the boundaries of Ebrington village. Later remains recorded in the area included two Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, a Norman church, two Grade II Listed Buildings with medieval features and an 18th century summer house, also a Listed Building, situated within the grounds of Ebrington Hall. Archaeological evaluation of the proposal site was recommended. [AIP] |
