Abstract: |
The evaluation trenches and geoarchaeological test pits was carried out in advance of a proposed residential development. The results identified no evidence for archaeological activity predating the post-medieval period. These features included two parallel flint walls and an infilled pond, all shown on 19th century maps of the site. The geoarchaeological test pits revealed pollen evidence and a palaeochannel. These deposits would be affected by the piled construction and further archaeological work was suggested. [Au(adp)] |
