Abstract: |
An archaeological cultural heritage assessment was undertaken to form part of an Environmental Statement, prepared to accompany a planning application for mineral extraction. No sites or findspots of prehistoric or historic date were recorded from within the study area, although a possible rectangular cropmark was shown on a 1961 aerial photograph. Prehistoric artefacts had also been found in the vicinity of the study area and medieval deer parts were known to the west and east. The field boundaries seen within the site were essentially those which existed in the latter part of the 19th century. [Au(abr)] |
