Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken, which revealed several finds of archaeological significance within the environs of the site but none for the site itself. The geological outcrop on which the site stood was noted for its density of Mesolithic occupation sites. The most significant factor that had emerged during this study was that c.50% of the site had been subject to quarrying and hence all archaeological finds or deposits in those areas would have been destroyed.
