Abstract: |
An archaeological impact assessment had been undertaken as a result of a proposed quarry extension. The site lay just above the floodplain of the River Lark and had a high potential of archaeological occupation for all periods. The development would also affect the setting of the Scheduled Ancient Monument, CAM 001 [the Black Ditches] and to do this it would require consultation with English Heritage. It was recommended that a programme of archaeological investigation, e.g. a geophysical survey, along the SAM and an evaluation would be included as a condition of the planning permission.
