Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a housing development. A prehistoric flint axe had been found to the NW of the site, but no other archaeological remains were recorded within 500m. Good preservation of deposits was anticipated, but much of the ground thought to have been previously undisturbed was actually made ground, so that original deposits would have been truncated or damaged. Twenty-nine trenches were excavated, but no features or finds were encountered. It was concluded that the site had no archaeological potential. [AIP] |
