Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in response to a planning application. A number of features of medieval and post-medieval date were revealed. In one area there was a complex of features of which at least one (a large pit) could be related to a local industry that characterised the parish of Hanley Castle in the medieval and early post-medieval periods. Later features included a series of deep trenches probably used in the 18th century for specialised cultivation. [Au(abr)] |
