Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out on groundworks for a new house. A post-medieval ditch was identified containing medieval pottery, eleven sherds of Roman pottery and possible Roman animal bone. The animal bone showed signs of gnawing and butchery chopping marks. The Roman pottery strongly suggested Roman occupation nearby the study area. The substantial post-medieval ditch could have bene an enclosure or property boundary. [Au(adp)] |
