Abstract:		 The desk-based assessment involved several sources and identified a large number of archaeological sites known to exist in the study area. The construction of the reservoir was the most damaging element and it was possible to damage new sites previously not known. The pipeline was less damaging but passed through some sensitive archaeological areas. It was recommended to carry out a programme of archaeological work as part of a planning condition. [Au(adp)]
