Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during excavations in the basement of 18 Parliament Square. The site lay just inside the Roman legionnary fortress, close to known Anglo-Scandinavian activity identified as an occupational build-up within the by then derelict fortress. The watching brief encountered deposits similar to the Anglo-Scandinavian build-up layers. [AIP] |
